Inside The Ropes at The Olympic Club
Friend, I think The Wizard of Oz had it right. There is no place like home!
For me, home is the Bay Area and The Olympic Club. The Lake and Ocean Courses at The Olympic Club will host the 125th U.S. Amateur. Jacob Goode is our club champion. By winning the California State Amateur, Goode qualified for the U.S. Am...at his home club!

Jacob Goode talks about the Havemeyer Trophy he wants to win on August 17, 2025
This is a truly unique look at one of the great golf courses in the world, from someone who has won there. Goode takes you through each hole on Lake, a Top 100 course renovated in 2023 by Gil Hanse. The strategy and course tour comes as the club champ prepared for the biggest competition of his life.
This is a fun ride for anyone who wants to play this course. If you are watching the major championships that are coming to The Olympic Club (2028 PGA Championship, 2030 U.S. Women's Amateur, 2033 Ryder Cup), this tour will make you understand the Lake Course much better.
This video was filmed at 125th U.S. Amateur Championship Media Day. All yardages are scorecard yardages for 125th U.S. Amateur. Thank you to the United States Golf Association and The Olympic Club for their hospitality. Thank you to Kay Cockerill, Taylor Zarzour, and Steve Burkowski for letting us eavesdrop.
